Screen Shot 2016-06-28 at 6.14.09 PM

ResetAs a career air traffic controller, Darlene Penrose thrived on the process that kept aviation safe and orderly. Then she was unexpectedly stricken with a voice disorder that left her no choice but to take a desk job for the balance of her career.

As a foodie in her personal life, Darlene embraced her love of food after retiring and joined forces with fellow food lover Helen Ryba to form Spiced Up, bringing new and exciting flavors to cooks every month.

Here is an inspiring story of lemons becoming lemonade.
