Crystal Lake public beach: It’s been a rough summer.

MANCHESTER, NH — Crystal Lake has been reopened for swimming after another round of testing for E. coli on Aug. 19.

The city Health Department reports that levels of E. coli bacteria are back within the “acceptable” range after the public beach was closed again lat week.

According to the health department:

In accordance with NH RSA 485-A, Class B waters, those acceptable for fishing, swimming and other recreational purposes, shall not have greater than an average of 88 Escherichia coli (E-coli) per 100 milliliters of water.

It’s been a difficult season at Crystal Lake, says health director Tim Soucy, who outlined why E. coli levels can become unsafe. You can read more about that here.
