MANCHESTER, NH – If you’re an aspiring design professional, mark your career-boosting calendar for April 19 for a session with Rita Armstrong, who will be at NH Institute of Art, 148 Concord St., to offer tips and strategies to get you to the next level. The event is from 7-9 p.m.

Armstrong runs a recruiting firm in NYC called Engaging Talent. She works with Branding Studios, Packaging Design Firms, Design Boutiques, Digital Houses, and Corporations. These firms are located throughout the U..S as well as abroad. She has been recruiting for the Design Industry for over 20 years. Armstrong has recruited Product Designers, Identity and Packaging Designers, Digital Leaders, Branding Mavens, and Production Masters. Her clients come back to her for her easy going, targeted search tactics, as well as advice on staffing and structure. In many cases the clients she is working with now were candidates in the past. Those long-term relationships have grown into strong business partnerships.

Armstrong has spoken at conferences on the place of strategy in the creative process and how to attract, hire, and retain design talent. At schools she has participated in portfolio reviews and given talks addressing a range of topics including job search strategies, resume formats, interview skills, and trends in design hiring.

At this chat she will address how to prepare for a successful interview including what your resume should look like whether you are approaching a firm for freelance or full time, how many samples should you send and what your presence online should look like. Most of all she will be available to answer your questions on what Creative Leaders are looking for in a candidate and how to be best prepared for the present job market.

The event is sponsored by NH Institute of Art Alumni Services. Click here to join the Facebook event group.
