Crash snaps pole, closes traffic on S. Jewett St. for several hours

MANCHESTER, NH — At approximately 5:32 a.m on Dec. 16 Manchester Police responded to a car accident in the area of 247 S. Jewett St.

A green Mercury Grand Marquis veered off the road and struck a telephone pole. The operator reported minor injury. However, a telephone pole was broken as a result of the accident which will impede traffic along South Jewett Street including school traffic.

South Jewett Street will be blocked from Constant to Maurice streets for approximately eight hours while the pole is replaced. The Jewett Street School may be accessed from the north. Southside Middle School may be accessed from the south.
