Couple resist arrest after fight wakes neighbors, gets out of hand with police

MANCHESTER, NH – Police arrested Kyle Grikscheit, 19, and Samantha Emerson, 20, early Wednesday, following a fight at their Hanover Street apartment during which they both allegedly became combative with police.

At about 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 19 police officers were dispatched to 121 Hanover St., Apt. #3 after someone called to report a fight that may involve a knife. Officers made contact with Grikscheit in the doorway of his apartment, but he refused to comply with their instructions. A struggle ensued with the officers and Grikscheit was arrested.

Emerson, who was also inside the apartment, began yelling and screaming profanity at the officers, which could be heard by other residents of the apartment building. Emerson tried to interfere with the officers while they struggled to arrest Grikscheit. Emerson refused to comply with the officers and was also placed under arrest. Emerson began to fight with the officers and resist arrest. At one point, Emerson slipped out of the handcuffs and tried to push away from the officers.

No knife was found or used during the altercation.

Grikscheit was scheduled to be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court, Manchester District to answer to the charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and a warrant for willful concealment.
