MANCHESTER, NH – A would-be convenience store robbery was thwarted by a beer delivery vendor who ran to the clerk’s rescue from the back of the store after he was alerted to the robbery by her screams.

Police said on Dec. 30 at about 8:15 a.m. Nathan Hinse, 22, allegedly entered Crosstown Variety with a towel over his face. The clerk asked Hinse to remove the towel at which time he allegedly demanded cash from the register. The clerk screamed, alerting beverage vendor Ryan Geara,  who ran from the back of the store and confronted Hinse. Police say Geara used physical force to prevent Hinse from fleeing.

Hinse was arrested and charged with robbery and is due to be arraigned Dec. 31 in Manchester District Court.
