MANCHESTER, NH — Dyn is by far one of the most buzzed about businesses to land in Manchester in a long time.
It’s also, by all accounts, a pretty cool company to work for.
One of the most often-asked questions about the company is, ‘What do they do?”
In their own words Dyn is “a cloud-based Internet Performance company” which may or may not mean much to you. That all depends on how technically-oriented you are.
But essentially, Dyn helps companies such as Etsy, CNBC, SoundCloud, Hershey, Twitter, and The Guardian by monitoring, controlling, and optimizing their websites through Internet infrastructure, so end users (like you) have a positive experience. (Click to see more of their high-profile clients.)
You can link to a helpful video explanation here, as well as a company profile.
Located in a renovated Millyard building next to the Merrimack River, Dyn was founded by CEO Jeremy Hitchcock while still a student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2001. By all accounts, Hitchcock’s company is poised to truly change the future of this old mill town.
But they need to hire and retain great employees, particularly those with tech skills.
Last year Dyn installed a spectacular sign atop the old Pandora mill building, signaling a symbolic shift in the economic engine driving our city, from manufacturing to high tech.
Dyn is always hiring, as in they are the kind of company always on the lookout for great hires. And not just geeky people who understand “how a global network of hundreds of real-time sensors, millions of test-points and rapidly expanding traffic management points-of-presence” actually matters.
There are all sort of openings.
For instance, they’re looking for a part-time prep cook for their Dyn Cafe, someone with 1-3 years experience in a commercial kitchen. They’re also looking for adjunct faculty for part-time teaching positions at their in-house “Dyn U,” to design and/or teach Python and/or Java programming courses starting in March/April 2015.
