MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police headquarters was a hub of community activity Saturday, as host to not only Drug Take Back Day but also inviting the public to get up close and personal with the department’s many vehicles, as well as offering free document shredding.

Nationwide, the most recent National Drug Take Back Day, held on Oct. 22, 2016, resulted in the collection of 731,269 pounds (365.6 tons) of prescription medications.

The three events highlight the work of the Manchester Police Department, which strives to connect to the community with many outreach programs.

Kids especially enjoyed the opportunity to explore the various vehicles used by Manchester Police, and the public took advantage of the drug recycling initiative, as well as the free shredding event.
