MANCHESTER, NH – Coming soon, to a vacant home goods store near you: Chunky’s Cinema Pub will be opening a 10-screen movie theater in the old Lowe’s building at 707 Huse Road.

Expected to open in early 2017, Chunky’s will adding to its already established popular dinner-and-a-movie-themed cinemas in Nashua, Pelham and Haverhill, Mass.

Chunky’s Cinema Pub is a locally-owned business and Mannetta says they are excited to finally bring a movie theater back to Manchester, along with close to a hundred jobs.

“We can’t believe Manchester has gone so many years without a movie theater and we’re honored that it’s us who’s putting an end to that,” Mannetta said.

“Chunky’s is one of those places you take pride in saying you have one where you live.  It’s somewhere you want to bring your friends to and show off the unique set up, where you can enjoying food, drinks and a movie at the same time.  We truly believe we are the only way to see a movie, and we hope Manchester agrees,” Mannetta said.

In addition to first-run movies, Chunky’s also is famous for its themed retro-movie nights, special events and community fundraisers, as well as movie-centric menu items like Clueless Platter, Lord of the Wings, My Big Fat Greek Salad, and the Kevin Bacon Burger.

Lowe’s in Manchester closed abruptly in 2011, one of three New Hampshire outlets that was part of a business restructuring for the company that saw 20 Lowe’s close its doors nationwide that year.
