MANCHESTER, NH – Some things never get old.
Back for its 61st celebration, this year’s Annual New Hampshire Antiques Show promises 67 exhibitors from all over the country showcasing some of the finest displays of furniture, fine and decorative arts, antique jewelry, folk art and more.
Held at The Manchester Downtown Hotel (formerly The Radisson) from August 9 – 11, highly reputable dealers will join together with thousands of buyers and enthusiasts in search of high-quality antiques while enjoying NH’s no sales tax.
“We want people to come and enjoy the journey through time that the show offers,” said Tommy Thompson, President of the Board of Directors for the New Hampshire Antique Dealers Association. As they interact with some of the most informed art and antiques experts in the nation, they can expect it to be engaging, informative and fun.”
The New Hampshire Antiques Show caps off a week of antique events known as Antiques Week in New Hampshire, and is a well-known tourism draw for the state, attracting passionate dealers and collectors from all around the country. Whether a newcomer or a seasoned collector, there is something for everyone. The show’s organizers and dealers prepare all-year long attracting a variety of goods and acquiring inventory pleasing to all levels of collectors who look forward to this annual event. Booths are continually re-stocked throughout the three-day event, so visitors will want to take advantage of the free return visit with initial admission fee. Every day will bring new fresh-to-market items that you don’t want to miss.
We are pleased to announce five new exhibitors to the show this year:
- John Sideli from Westport, Mass.;
- Samuel W. Forsythe Antiques of Columbus, Ohio,
- John and Nancy Smith’s American Sampler from Barnesville, Maryland,
- Jeffrey Roelof of Kalamazoo, MI
- Bruce Emond of Village Braider Antiques, Plymouth, Mass.
John Sideli, an artist and antiques dealer with an eye for antiques, enjoys dealing in colorful and graphic Americana.
“I have long been an admirer of the NH Antiques Show and its unique stature and reputation,” shared Sideli. “I am pleased and excited to have the opportunity to become part of it, he added. Samuel Forsythe is thrilled to join the prestigious NH Antiques Show as well. His booth always includes a wide range of material, but of primary interest is redware and 18th Century American antiques.
John and Nancy Smith have been familiar faces at major shows throughout the Midwest and East Coast trading under the name “American Sampler” and specializing in cast iron, folk art and country Americana for more than 35 years.
Jeffrey Roelof currently exhibits at the Nashville Show and the Midwest Antiques Show in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He specializes in Americana and folk art with original painted surfaces.
Bruce Emond became involved in the family antique business in 1981, which was started by his mother in 1965. “I’ve always been an eclectic dealer with a broad range in interesting art and antiques – from garden antiques to folk art,” said Emond.
All five of these new exhibitors will be a welcome addition to the show.
Admission is $15 on Thursday, $10 on Friday and Saturday. Visitors under 30 (with proper ID) are admitted free and as always, there are free return visits to the show after initial admission.
