MANCHESTER, NH – Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a city man for questioning following a stabbing incident late Tuesday night on Massabesic Street.

Derek Sedita is a “person of interest,” police said. The incident may also involve the discharge of gun, which remains under investigation.

Manchester police were alerted to a disturbance in the area of 369 Massabesic St. around 11:30 p.m. Sept. 8. A bloodied man was weaving in and out of traffic pleading for a passerby to stop and assist him.

The 29-year-old man, from Auburn,  had suffered a single, non-life-threatening stab wound to his neck moments before he walked into the Elliott Hospital Emergency Department. He was immediately taken to an operating room to receive treatment for his wound.

The victim also stated he was shot at during the incident involving a man who resides on Massabesic Street. He did not sustain a gunshot wound and detectives are processing the scene to determine if, in fact, a gun was fired during the altercation. The victim appears to know the suspect, so this does not appear to be a random attack.

Manchester Police Detectives would like to locate Derek Sedita, 32, a “person of interest” in this case. He is described as 5-foot-7, approximately 135-150 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes. If you know his whereabouts please contact the Manchester Police Department at 668-8711.
