City man charged with May 16 shooting incident on Spruce Street

MANCHESTER, NH – Samuel Ramos Torres, 25, of Manchester, was arrested May 21 in connection with the May 16 shooting incident on Spruce Street.

Members of the Manchester Police Detective Division investigated the shooting and made quick work of the case after they completed an arrest warrant for Ramos Torres.

Detective Joseph Lorenzo completed the warrant and conducted a wanted check at his residence Monday afternoon. Ramos Torres was not home at the time of the wanted check, so he turned himself in at police headquarters at approximately 9 p.m. on May 21.

Manchester Police responded to the area of 318 Spruce Street at approximately 3 p.m. on May 16 for
reports of gunshots in the area. Officers located several shell casing in front of 312 Spruce Street before speaking to witnesses who described a light-skinned male as the possible shooter. Witnesses said the shooter was seen hiding between cars in front of 312 Spruce St. prior to the gunshot call. The witness also told police that the man crouching down between cars got up and began firing at a black SUV as it drove east on Spruce Street.

Ramos Torres was charged with reckless conduct, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon and felonious use of a firearm. He is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on May 22, 2018.
