City man charged with driving under the influence after morning I-293 crash

CONCORD, NH — On May 10 at approximately 7 a.m. Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police, Troop B Barracks in Bedford responded to a motor vehicle crash on I-293 southbound, south of exit 1.

On arrival they found that Frederick Boyle, 25, of Manchester, driving a 2007 Volkswagen Passat, lost control of his vehicle and struck the back of a 2015 Hyundai Sonata, operated by Stephan Butler, 50, of Hooksett. The crash caused heavy damage to both vehicles yet no injuries were reported. Several witnesses reported that Boyle was driving erratically minutes before the crash.

A roadside investigation was conducted and Boyle was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was bailed with a Manchester Court date of June 11, 2018 at 8 a.m.

The right lane of I-293 had to be shut down for approximately one hour so the scene could be cleared up. The crash is currently under investigation and anyone with information pertaining to this incident is urged to contact Trooper Tyo John.Tyo@dos.nh.gov  603-672-3333
