MANCHESTER, NH – Michael Wells, 52, of Manchester, was arrested early Tuesday morning, charged with robbing two banks in the past week.

Police say Wells allegedly robbed Citizens Bank, 1550 Elm St., on December 8, and Eastern Bank, 41 Hooksett Road, on December 10. Detectives assigned to the case were able to positively identify Wells based on tips from the public.

Wells was arrested inside of the hallway of an apartment complex at 64 Merrimack St. at about 1 a.m. on Dec. 11 while officers were on scene for a separate call for service.

Officer Michael Pauley recognized Wells as he knocked on an apartment door inside of the apartment building. Wells allegedly provided a false name, however the officer was able to positively identify him prior to placing him into custody.

Wells was charged with the two bank robbery warrants and booked at police headquarters. He is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on December 11, 2018.
