City man charged in Dec. 17 stabbing on Cedar Street

MANCHESTER, NH – Jose Cruz, 28, of Manchester, was charged Dec. 17 with first-degree assault following a stabbing incident on Cedar Street.

Members of the Manchester Police patrol division responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of 315 Cedar Street address just before 4 p.m. on December 17.

Officers Derek Feather and Tyler Shaw located the victim, a 30-year-old male, outside of 305/307 Cedar Street who was bleeding profusely due to a stab wound in his abdomen. Both officers assisted the injured man while additional officers responded and set-up a perimeter to locate the suspect.

Police said it is not known at this time what the situation was that led to the stabbing.  The victim was transported to the hospital and treated for a non-life threatening injury.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. officers located Cruz and arrested him. He was released on $10,000 cash/surety bail.
