City man arrested on drug, weapons charge during probation check at Pine Street apartment

MANCHESTER, NH – Thomas Bemis, 29, of Manchester, was arrested March 6, on drug and weapons charges after police were called to a Pine Street apartment for a probation/wanted check.

At approximately 10 p.m., officers accompanied NH State Probation/Parole Officers to 521 Pine Street, Apt. 304 where they were met by several people in the apartment.

Police observed signs of drug use and paraphernalia which were openly visible inside the apartment. Officers located an open duffle bag on the floor containing a 9mm handgun. Bemis claimed ownership of the bag and gun.

Officers also located a small quantity of heroin (3g) and cocaine (1g) within the bag.

Bemis was arrested and will answer to the charge of possession of a controlled drug (2 counts) and felonious use of a firearm. His arraignment was set for March 7 in the 9th Circuit District Manchester.
