Chain-reaction: Car hits deer on I-93, tractor-trailer hits car, police shut down highway

A car hit a deer, which initiated a chain-reaction of crashes on I-93 in Concord.

CONCORD, NH – Multiple vehicle crashes in the area of exit 14 on I-93 south in Concord occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. on May 30, 2017.

The highway was closed for approximately an hour until the damaged vehicles and obstructing debris could be removed.

A vehicle involved in the initial collision, a Nissan Sentra, struck a deer in the passing lane before then getting rear-ended by a tractor trailer. The car’s occupants were transported to Concord Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Other accidents followed.

Police did not detail the chain-reaction crashes. However, they area asking that anyone who witnessed these crashes is encouraged to call State Police Trooper Derek Myrdek at (603) 271-3636.
