MANCHESTER, NH – Riley Cullen, 16, of Manchester, will represent New Hampshire in America’s National Teenager Scholarship Organization (ANTSO) for gifted young women. The national pageant will be held in Houston, TX, November 24-26. Cullen, a junior at Manchester Central High School, hopes to win so she can promote her platform BEE Kind on a national level. Her platform encourages people to do small acts of kindness on a daily basis. She created BEE Kind bracelets to wear as a daily reminder of kindness and has been selling them to help fundraise her way to nationals.
“ANTSO was founded in 1970 upon the principles of celebrating a young woman’s smarts and big heart. Therefore, while the world around us has changed, our company has not. We still focus on the female’s academic potential, contribution to community, and the ideals and power that women have, at any age, to make a difference. This year we celebrate 47 years of glamour, scholarship, community and style,” states CEO and owner, Jenny Telwar-Daniel.
The National event in Houston, TX will consist of several days in competition, and fun city events like a Celebration 47th Queen’s Ball, a visit to the NASA Space Center, family fun bingo night, participation in the Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade, and serving 35,000 Thanksgiving lunches at Houston’s largest community event on Thanksgiving Day. Winners will walk away with cash scholarships for college along with various other amazing prizes and trips. For more information visit www.nationalteen.com
