Following a difficult series in Binghamton, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats returned to the win column with a 4-1 Monday night victory against Reading.

Reading’s Kyle Martin drove home the game’s opening run in the first inning, but New Hampshire quickly answered.

Just one inning later, Ryan McBroom hit his second homer in as many games and Richard Urena would add another homer in the fourth.

McBroom and Emilio Guerrero would each add another RBI each in the sixth to seal the victory.

All four New Hampshire runs were attributed to Reading starter Brandon Leibrandt, who fell to 2-1 on the year.

Leibrandt pitched six innings of work, allowing seven hits and a walk while striking out four. Yacksel Rios and Tom Windle allowed only one New Hampshire hit in the last three frames.

Francisco Rios (3-2) pitched seven innings to earn the win, scattering eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Chris Rowley earned his first Double-A save following two hitless innings to close out the contest.

Harold Ramirez joined McBroom and Guerrero with multi-hit days for the Fisher Cats. Meanwhile Reading got two-hit days from Martin, Aaron Brown and Jiandido Tromp.

The series continues Tuesday night in Reading. Jon Harris gets the ball for the Fisher Cats (9-14) while Tom Eshelman will start for the Fightin’ Phils (11-9). First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m.
