twgp 2017MANCHESTER, NH – Catholic Charities New Hampshire has been awarded 1st place in GrantStation’s 2017 Winning Grant Proposal Contest.

The award-winning proposal was for a $60,000 federal grant through the New Hampshire Department of Justice’s Victims of Crime Act (VOCA). CCNH successfully earned funding for specialized legal services for immigrant and refugee victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault in New Hampshire.

Scott Fitzgerald is the grant manager for CCNH. The winning entry earned Fitzgerald and CCNH a year’s membership to GrantStation and the Grant Professionals Association. A review committee of 66 members of the GPA reviewed 81 submissions.

“It is certainly an honor to be recognized for our work, but the real reward comes when we are able to raise money through grants that support our programs and allow us to serve 1 in 13 people in the state,” Fitzgerald says. “Grants are critical to funding the many programs of Catholic Charities NH, such as Immigration and Refugee Services.”

CCNH’s Immigration and Refugee services work to provide legal representation to those underserved documented residents.

GrantStation is a grant research company providing assistance to non-profit organizations, educational institutions and government agencies seeking a grant. Their annual contest recognizes organizations that propose the most compelling plans to implement into the community.
