Results: 40 NH teams advance to Destination Imagination Global Finals in May

Almost 300 New Hampshire teams started the year in choosing one of six STEAM-based challenges to be appraised on creativity, problem-solving and collaboration. Now, after several rounds of competition, the top 40 New Hampshire Destination Imagination teams have been chosen to advance and compete with teams from over 20 countries and nearly every state at Destination Imagination Global Finals in Knoxville, TN. Bedford on Saturday: Creative Problem-Solvers Try to Advance to Global Academic Competition

For five months, student teams in 30 countries, including 300 teams in New Hampshire picked a challenge in science, technology, the arts, engineering, math or service learning. Over the past two weeks, the top 111 teams, appraised on creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills have advanced to New Hampshire Destination Imagination State Finals in Bedford on Saturday. The top scoring teams in each challenge and age group will advance to compete at Destination Imagination Global Finals at the University of Tennessee in May. READ MORE

SNHU, Rethink Education to Invest $15 Million in Seed Stage EdTech Startups

The $15 million investment will be allocated among more than two dozen companies at the seed stage. Together Rethink Education, which is co-managed by Rick Segal and Matt Greenfield, and SNHU will work with early stage ed-tech companies across the country that are using technology and data-driven models to tackle stubborn challenges in the education to workforce pipeline, including access and affordability.

MST High School’s FIRST Robotics team takes top honors

Manchester School of Technology’s FIRST Robotics team came home victorious from the New England District Greater Boston competition, just weeks after the first-ever team at MST was established. Team 6763 placed third on its own, then captained the alliance team that won first place in another part of the competition. In addition, Team 6763 received the Rookie Highest Seed Award for scoring the highest points in a match and the Rookie All-Star Award. READ MORE
