UPDATE Dec. 11, 2015: The community forum on Tuesday, December 15 to meet the final candidates for Webster Elementary School principal has been canceled after Phil Banios withdrew his name for consideration. If and when another forum date is scheduled, the public will be notified.

Original story:

MANCHESTER, NH – Parents, teachers and interested members of the public will have a chance to meet and hear from the finalists being considered for the top post at Webster Elementary School, 2519 Elm St., Manchester. The school district is hosting a forum Dec. 15 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. to introduce the two candidates and offer an opportunity for the community to ask questions.

The invited candidates are Philip Banios, currently principal of Greenlodge Elementary School in Dedham, MA; and Christopher MacDonald, currently assistant principal at Northwest Elementary School in Manchester since 2008.

Their experience includes curriculum development and implementation, school improvement initiatives, and educator evaluations. Both Banios and MacDonald were classroom teachers earlier in their education careers and value the importance of collaboration among all members of a school community for success.

“When we have two strong candidates for a principal position, forums like this have proven to be a wonderful way to further involve our families and faculty in selecting the best leader for their school,” said Superintendent Debra Livingston. “It’s also a valuable part of the interview process for the candidates to meet members of the school community.”
