MANCHESTER, NH – A city man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after police were called to his apartment for a report of a burglary in progress.
Officers responded to 49 Manchester St. just before 11 a.m. on March 29 after a caller reported a broken window at the apartment house. Officers observed a broken window in the front of the address and a man, later identified as Coty Bourke, 27, of 49 Manchester St., Apt. 20, inside that apartment.
Officer Andrew Choi responded to the rear of the address and observed Bourke exit the rear of the apartment on Monadnock Lane. Bourke made eye contact with Officer Choi but refused to stop when ordered to do so. Instead, the he ran away from Officer Choi even though he ordered Bourke to stop several times. Bourke continued running toward Chestnut and Merrimack streets but was quickly taken into custody on Pine Street, near Merrimack Street when Officer Stephen Bates blocked his path.
Dispatch confirmed Bourke had an outstanding warrant out of Hillsborough County, so he was taken into custody for the outstanding warrant and also charged with resisting arrest/detention. No court date is available at this time.
