MANCHESTER, NH – A routine traffic stop resulted in the March 16 arrest of Robert Sparks, 24, of Dorchester, Mass., wanted as a fugitive from justice out of Rhode Island.

Manchester Police Officer Andre Smith conducted a motor vehicle stop early Monday morning approximately 3:55 a.m. Officer Smith observed a vehicle with Massachusetts plates in the area of Beech and Central streets when he noticed a defective tail light, so he initiated a traffic stop.

In speaking with the passenger, later identified as Sparks, Officer Smith determined that Sparks was listed as a fugitive from justice out of Providence, RI, on a kidnapping charge.

Sparks appeared in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on March 16, 2015, and is awaiting extradition to Rhode Island.
