MANCHESTER, NH — The public is invited to join member-owners of the Manchester Food Co-op to attend a Jan. 18 meeting for the announcement of a site location for the bricks-and-mortar location of the co-op.

Tapas will be provided by Tidewater Catering Group.

This announcement comes after a multi-year search and planning effort by the Manchester Food Co-op Board of Directors and Site Committee to secure a financially-viable site for the first consumer-owned retail grocery store in the greater Manchester area.   Together the recently hired General Manager, Project Manager and Board of Directors will provide information about the location decision, project funding and projected timeline to open doors.  This is a great opportunity for member-owners to participate in a huge milestone of our collectively owned business and gather all the information about the remaining steps to bring it to life.

Presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. with Howard Brodsky, Co-CEO/Chairman/Co-Founder of  CCA Global Partners, a cooperative retail powerhouse headquartered here in Manchester.  CCA Global is comprised of 13 affiliated companies with aggregated sales of over $10 billion.  Brodsky is a pioneer of the cooperative model whose accomplishments include induction into the Cooperative Hall of Fame (the first inductee was Benjamin Franklin), Entrepreneur Hall of Fame, and most recently Howard was named NH Business Leader of the Year.

And of course, what would such a celebration be without some of our local producers there to share it?  We will be joined by Laurel Hill Jams & Jellies, Great Harvest Bread, Benedikt Dairy Farm and Simple Goodness so member-owners can sample and shop local treats.

Meeting is January 18 from 6-9 p.m. at Waterworks Cafe, 250 Commercial St., Suite 1004. Riverside Room. Manchester, NH 03101
