Bicyclist injured after running a red light on Merrimack Street

MANCHESTER, NH – A bicyclist who was traveling north on Pine Street at 9:15 a.m. on May 15 sustained a broken femur after he crashed into a vehicle traveling west on Merrimack Street. According to several witnesses, Andrew Worster, 26, proceeded through a red traffic light as the operator of the Jeep was approaching the intersection.

John Diaz, 29, of Manchester was traveling on Merrimack Street while Worster, no fixed address, peddled through a red traffic light on his BMX-style bicycle. Worster struck the vehicle as it proceeded through the intersection.

Worster was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for a serious but non-life threatening injury to his leg. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failing to obey a traffic control device.
