MANCHESTER, N.H. – Bentley College has one of the best NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s basketball programs this year and they proved it again on Wednesday night with a pair of wins over Southern New Hampshire University.
The doubleheader began with a 70-65 result on the women’s side, Bentley coming in ranked #5 in the country.
Southern New Hampshire cut a 12-point lead down to one with 3:43 left in the contest, due in large part to a pair of consecutive three-pointers from junior Molly Terry (Holliston, Mass.)
However, Terry’s second three-pointer would be the Penmen’s last field goal of the contest as Bentley pulled away in the final minutes.
Terry led the way with 15 points for Southern New Hampshire while senior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) contributed 13 points, 16 rebounds and four assists.
The #14 ranked men’s Bentley squad then defeated Southern New Hampshire, 89-83.
The Penmen led by as many as seven at one point, but the Falcons’ 10-2 stretch midway through the second half brought them back, tying the game three times before taking the lead for good with just under four minutes to go.
Bentley’s Ryan Richmond (Toronto, Ont.) led all scorers with 28 points, Daquaise Andrews (Queens, N.Y.) led the Penmen with 24 points and 11 assists, his fourth double-double of the year.
