SALEM, NH — A benefit concert and fundraiser has been scheduled for Nov. 23, at the Salem/Derry Elks Lodge to help a local family following the death of loving father and talented musician, Dave Bundza.
The benefit is from 5-11 p.m. It will include performances by musicians from throughout the region, a silent auction, food, prizes, games, a 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, face painting and more.
Bundza, a Derry native and Hampstead resident, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 33 on Oct. 29. The Pinkerton Academy and University of New Hampshire graduate is survived by his beloved wife, Christina, and three young children.
“Dave meant so much to so many people and would do anything he could for them, usually for nothing in return,” said the organizers of the benefit. “We’re hoping community members and musicians will come together to help support his family and ‘play’ goodbye to Dave.”
Tickets for the event are $15 at the door. Children 12 years old and younger are free. Tickets include food, while there will also be a cash bar.
Tickets will be available in advance for $10. More information about how to purchase advance tickets will soon be posted on the event Facebook page.
Monetary donations and gift cards are also appreciated in order to help ease the family’s financial burden in the coming months.
All donations should be made out to the Bundza Family Benefit. They can be deposited at TD Bank’s locations in Hampstead, Salem and Derry, or brought to the Nov. 23 benefit.
The Salem/Derry Elks Lodge is located at 39 Shadow Lake Road in Salem.
Musicians and sound engineers are still wanted for the benefit, especially those who knew Dave from his many shows throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Anyone interested in playing a few songs or an entire set should contact Kyle Stucker at (603) 767-1301 or kstucker@seacoastonline.com.
