MANCHESTER, NH — The public is invited to join a community clean-up effort organized by Riverwalk Beautification Alliance.

The clean-up along the Riverwalk and Piscatoquog Trail begins at 9 a.m. Participants should meet under the walking bridge on the trail.

The group will supply  paint and other materials to make improvements to the river trail. Area of focus will be removal of graffiti and creation of painted murals at highly vulnerable locations. Rain date is Sunday July 26.

    The concern I have is that no matter how they try to clean up the river walk, it still doesn’t seem to be a safe place to go. The camps of people who live down there are extremely territorial and don’t welcome strangers. There doesn’t seem to be a way to combat this problem.
