Mayor releases proposed fiscal year ’24 budgets

On Tuesday, Mayor Joyce Craig delivered her Fiscal Year 2024 budget address presenting a budget that falls below the tax cap. Manchester’s FY24 tax cap is 4.96%, however Mayor Craig’s budget is far less at 3.37%. Mayor Craig’s budget provides $8.1 million in additional property tax revenue, with approximately $2.5 million allocated to the City and $5.6 million allocated to Manchester School District. Craig joins with other NH mayors calling on Sununu, statewide officials for action on homelessness crisis

Today, Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig, along with Mayor Jim Donchess of Nashua, Mayor Paul Grenier of Berlin, Mayor Dana Hilliard of Somersworth, Mayor Jo Brown of Franklin, Mayor Dale Girard of Claremont, Mayor Bob Carrier of Dover, and Mayor Andrew Hosmer of Laconia, sent a letter to Governor Sununu, DHHS Commissioner Weaver, and Associate Commissioner Santaniello outlining immediate needs from the State of New Hampshire to address the statewide homelessness crisis. Craig urges eligible residents to apply for fuel assistance

With the recent rise in gas, oil, and electric costs, Mayor Joyce Craig is urging eligible Manchester residents apply for fuel assistance funded by the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and administered locally by Southern New Hampshire Services. In addition to fuel assistance, eligible residents can concurrently apply for electric assistance, also administered by SNHS. READ MORE
