Families in Transition-New Horizons (FIT-NH) announces changes to its leadership and management team with new hires and internal promotions to support the ongoing needs of the organization. Several internal staff members will take on new roles and responsibilities in light of the organizational changes, and additional staff members have been hired to fill new and open positions. Families in Transition-New Horizons (FIT-NH) will hold its 30th Annual Walk Against Hunger on Sunday, May 17 as a virtual event. Walkers from around the country will participate from their own neighborhoods, promoting social distancing and safety for participants. READ MORE
Angie’s Shelter utilizes vacant space to safely care for 17 participants who are homeless. READ MORE
This state-funded effort will ensure that there will be daily access to hot meals for participants who cannot easily access food with the soup kitchen shuttered to participants not staying in the shelter due to the pandemic. This partnership will deliver meals twice a day, seven days a week to multiple points around the city, starting April 30. READ MORE
A $50,000 donation from Dartmouth-Hitchcock to Families in Transition – New Horizons (FIT-NH) has helped to make shelter improvements in the dormitory area, including safe recovery shelter spaces. READ MORE
The event was a success because of all of the following religious organizations: Brookside Congregational Church, First Congregational Church, First Presbyterian Church, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Longmeadow Congregational Church of Auburn, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Temple Adath Yeshurun and Temple Israel.
