Armed robbery at Family Dollar on West Hancock Street

MANCHESTER, NH — Police are investigating an armed robbery at Family Dollar on West Hancock Street Wednesday night.

At approximately 6:51 p.m. multiple police units were dispatched to the Family Dollar, 130 W. Hancock St., for an armed robbery. The investigation revealed that an unknown masked man entered the store armed with a pistol and handed the clerk a note demanding cash.

The robber got away with undisclosed amount cash before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction of travel. A police track with dogs was attempted but was fruitless. The suspect was described as a lanky white male, about 5-foot-7 inches tall, dark scarf covering his face, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, tan pants and armed with a pistol.
