Armed robber in red flowered shorts sought after Rite Aid hold-up

CruiserMANCHESTER, NH  – Police are investigating an armed robbery at Rite Aid, 122 McGregor St., on Saturday.

At about 10:45 p.m. on Aug. 22 Manchester Police responded to Rite Aid for a reported robbery.

Upon arrival to the store, officers were informed by a store employee that a male subject entered the store wearing a bandanna covering his face. The robber approached the counter, brandished a knife and demanded money.

As the employee opened the register, the robber jumped over the counter and started taking the money from the register. The employee attempted to stop the robber from taking the money by punching him on the head. The robber then fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

He is described as white or light-skinned Hispanic male, thin build, last seen wearing a dark green hooded sweatshirt, black shorts with red flower print and a red bandanna covering his face.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Manchester Police at 668-8711 or by calling Crimeline at 624-4040 if you wish to remain anonymous.
