Argument over money leads to alleged stabbing

MANCHESTER, NH — A Queen City woman will appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester June 20 after being arrested June 19 on two counts of first-degree assault.

Police arrested Gladys Then, 18, of Manchester, who allegedly engaged in an argument with victim, 23, who police identified as her mother’s fiancé.

The victim told police Then began arguing with him about money as she was washing the dishes in the galley-style kitchen. She retrieved a large kitchen knife and slashed him in the upper arm, causing a laceration. He attempted to walk past her to avoid additional injuries. However, he was stabbed a second time as he ran past her in the narrow area. The second stabbing stuck him in his lower back.

Both wounds were consistent with slash marks and required on-scene medical treatment. The victim refused additional medical treatment and remained on scene after Then was taken into custody. She was charged with two counts first-degree assault.
