“PillPack’s visionary team has a combination of deep pharmacy experience and a focus on technology,” says Jeff Wilke, Amazon CEO Worldwide Consumer. “PillPack is meaningfully improving its customers’ lives, and we want to help them continue making it easy for people to save time, simplify their lives, and feel healthier. We’re excited to see what we can do together on behalf of customers over time.”

“PillPack makes it simple for any customer to take the right medication at the right time, and feel healthier,” said TJ Parker, co-founder and CEO of PillPack. “Together with Amazon, we are eager to continue working with partners across the healthcare industry to help people throughout the U.S. who can benefit from a better pharmacy experience.”

Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig welcomed the news as a continued signal of the city’s growing economic potential.

“Manchester is proud to be home to innovative companies like PillPack that are not only driving our city’s economic growth, but improving people’s lives. It is no surprise that the work going on in Manchester’s millyard is getting the attention of industry giants like Amazon and this merger demonstrates what a great place Manchester is to build and grow a business,” Craig said.  “I look forward to hearing more details and working with PillPack to continue making Manchester the best place to live, work, and start a business.”

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mike Skelton echoed Craig’s sentiments.

“Today’s news is yet another signal that Manchester has arrived as a national hub of technology and innovation. PillPack is an amazing company that was able to scale rapidly in the Millyard in part thanks to their ability to attract and retain young talent to its workforce – and the company’s prime Millyard location played a significant role in that success,” Skelton said. “We look forward to welcoming Amazon to Manchester and are confident they will quickly see what we already know – Manchester is a low cost, amenity rich location that offers businesses a truly unique environment to launch, expand, and thrive.”

Completion of this transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. The parties expect to close the transaction during the second half of 2018.
