Altoona CurveALTOONA, Penn. –  The New Hampshire have six straight games in the Keystone State, but hopefully the next five will go a little better.

Altoona Curve hurler Cam Vieaux went seven strong innings, holding the Fisher Cat bats in check as Altoona cruised to a 10-1 victory.

New Hampshire’s only run came in the third courtesy of a Jon Berti RBI single, bringing home Jonathan Davis. That run was the 55th for Davis this year, extending his lead over Binghamton’s Jeff McNeil. The RBI was also the sixth in six Double-A appearances this year for Berti.

That was just about it when it came to good news for the ‘Cats. Vieaux and relievers Enny Romero and Bret Helton limited New Hampshire to just six hits, two coming from Davis. Meanwhile, Altoona grabbed five hits in the fourth inning alone, putting up six runs and turning what had been a one-run deficit for New Hampshire into an insurmountable chasm between the two clubs.

Bralin Jackson went 3-for-5 with four RBI for the Curve, with Will Craig, Bryan Reynolds, and Stephen Alemais each contributing two hits apiece for Altoona.

Justin Dillon (1-1, 6.00 ERA) looks to even up the series on Saturday for New Hampshire as he faces Altoona’s Pedro Vasquez. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
