MANCHESTER, NH – A man wanted in connection with a burglary was nabbed by police as he sat in the cafe at Market Basket, shortly after  the alleged burglary took place across the street, on West Auburn Street.

Michael Wing, 53, no fixed address, was charged with burglary.

According to a police narrative, a property manager for Gamache Properties contacted police to report a man had entered a property at 21 West Auburn St. through a secured door before walking into the storage area.

The property manager told police he scared the intruder off when he confronted him in the basement of the building. He said that the alleged burglar ran across the street in the direction of Market Basket.

Officer McDonald arrived on scene and located Wing seated in the Market Basket cafe based on a description of the burglar provided to police.

He determined Wing was the man responsible for breaking into the building and placed him into custody. Wing  was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on March 26. He was also placed on a 72-hour hold for a probation/parole violation.
