MANCHESTER, NH –  Through a joint investigation between the Manchester and Goffstown Police Departments, Jonathan Grant, 28, of Manchester, was arrested May 14 and charged with three robberies in which the robber wielded a baseball bat as a weapon.

Grant was taken into custody Tuesday morning in Manchester on an unrelated drug charge, but as the investigation continued, police were able to connect him to three recent robberies.

The most recent was at about 5 a.m. on May 14 at the 7-Eleven on Queen City Ave. In that incident, a robber walked into the convenience carrying a baseball bat and demanded money. The clerk refused and the robber ran out, empty-handed.

The Cumberland Farms on Mast Road in Goffstown was also robbed early Tuesday morning, one day after a similar robbery by a man fitting the same description as the Manchester robbery. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken during both Goffstown robberies.

Grant was arraigned Tuesday in Hillsborough Superior Court-North on a possession of a controlled drug charge. On May 15, he will be arraigned on the robbery charges, police said.
