MANCHESTER, NH – The Southern New Hampshire Skating Club (SNHSC) is hosting the Great Skate Skate-A-Thon event at Manchester’s JFK Memorial Coliseum at 303 Beech Street on Nov. 18.  Attendees will take the ice for nearly four hours.  All proceeds will go towards SNHSC’s Ida DeThomasis Scholarship fund, a fund established to provide Learn to Skate scholarships for skaters experiencing financial need.

The Skate-A-Thon begins at 4:10 p.m., and runs until 7:50 p.m.  Skaters will take part in on-ice games, free skating, giveaways, and music will be provided by a Live DJ.  All attendees, both on and off the ice, will be treated to pizza and snacks.  A raffle and 50/50 will be held, as well.

The cost of admission is $15 each for adults, and $10 each per child. Skate rentals will be available for an additional fee.  Neither pre-registration nor skating experience are required. Members of the SNHSC coaching staff will be available to assist beginner skaters of all ages.  Beginners skaters should wear a helmet, and all attendees should dress warmly.
