ALERT: Severe storm watch in effect for Manchester and surrounding area

Screen Shot 2017 07 08 at 1.21.05 PMMANCHESTER, NH – Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued by the National Weather Service out of Gray Maine until 1:45 p.m.

Areas affected:

  • Northwestern Rockingham County in southern New Hampshire
  • Strafford County in central New Hampshire
  • Southeastern Cheshire County in southern New Hampshire
  • Hillsborough County in southern New Hampshire
  • Southeastern Belknap County in central New Hampshire
  • Southeastern Merrimack County in central New Hampshire
  • Southeastern Carroll County in northern New Hampshire
  • Interstate 293 between mile markers 1 and 11. Interstate 89 between mile markers 0 and 10. Interstate 93 between mile markers 10 and 45.

At 12:57 p.m. severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Effingham to 9 miles south of Richmond, moving east at 35 mph. Wind gusts up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail. Expect damage to trees, and power lines.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
