MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas today issued the following statement on the passing of Ward 5 Alderman Ed Osborne:

“I wish to offer my deepest condolences to the Osborne family on the passing of Ward 5 Alderman Ed Osborne.  Alderman Osborne was a true champion and advocate for the citizens of his ward.  He was continually recognized, and will be remembered, for his commitment to constituent service and always putting the needs of the citizens of Ward 5 before politics.

The emergency notification lighting system in the city is a credit to Alderman Osborne.  He saw a need for residents to be notified during snow emergencies and brought forward the idea for the current white, flashing light notification system we have in place today.  As a result of Alderman Osborne’s leadership the citizens of all wards in Manchester are better informed and prepared.

This evening at 5 p.m. the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, in conjunction with the Department of Public Works, will activate the lighting system for five minutes in honor of the passing of Ward 5 Alderman Ed Osborne.”
