Albert Provencher, 75: Hunter, painter, bonsai enthusiast, Coast Guard veteran; active in prison ministry

MANCHESTER, NH – Albert J. Provencher, 75, of Manchester, passed away at his residence on February 18, 2017.

He was born in Manchester on March 8, 1941, the son of Leo and Anita (Paquin) Provencher. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran. Albert was a truck driver for most of his career, working for Auclair Transportation for many years, and retired from Cotter and Co. He enjoyed hunting, painting, photography, and caring for his Bonsais. He was active in religious ministries, especially at the Main Street Mission and also the NH State Prison System.

Family members include his wife of 19 years, Cecile (Lemay) (Lemire) Provencher; a son, Joseph Provencher and his wife Cindy of Pembroke; his daughter, Joann McGee and her husband David of Goffstown; four step-sons, Joseph Lemire and his wife Debbie of Goffstown, Timothy Lemire and his wife Pam of Manchester, Philip Lemire of Merrimack, and Kenneth Lemire and his wife Nicole of NC; a step-daughter, Donna Lemire of Manchester; four grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren, and many great grandchildren; three brothers, Roland Provencher, Ronald Provencher, and Norman Provencher, all of Manchester; two sisters, Denise Lavigne of Auburn and Diane Provencher of Manchester; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
