MANCHESTER, NH –  Burning wires, downed trees, school bus crashes, wide-spread damage – the aftermath of the storm, captured in video snippets and photos by Jeffrey Hastings. School buses were out as usual in the morning until school was canceled just after 7 a.m.

Several accidents were reported, including one involving a school bus that hadn’t yet been recalled.  It was involved in an accident with a vehicle at Maple Street and Cilley Road. No children were on board the bus, but the driver of the car suffered injury. There were no traffic signals working at the intersection due to the power outage.

Eversource reports it has deployed 500 line and tree workers to repair extensive damage to the energy system throughout the state caused by trees and branches that fell onto the power lines during the powerful wind storm.
