MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Manchester Police Department has released additional details on a man arrested earlier this week after looking to report a stolen gun.

Khalid Dibi, 30, of Manchester entered the Michael L. Briggs Public Safety Building at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 19 and told a front desk clerk that he sought to give back what he said was a stolen gun. Dibi then allegedly took the gun out of a bag and started pointing it randomly outward and toward his own throat.

More than half a dozen officers ordered Dibi to put his hands up and get on his knees. Although Dibi put the gun on a nearby counter, he refused to comply with the officers’ demands and stayed within arm’s reach of the weapon. Dibi was then tasered and arrested on charges of alleged criminal threatening, reckless conduct, receiving stolen property.

It was later determined that Dibi had stolen the gun involved in the incident. The owner of the gun was found shortly afterward, reporting a bullet hole in his car, leading police to believe that Dibi fired the weapon prior to the incident.

Dibi is currently being held at Hillsborough County House of Corrections. Future court dates on the case have not yet been released.

Anyone accused of a crime is innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.
