NASHUA, NH – No serious injuries were reported following a six-car pile-up on the Everett Turnpike in Nashua Tuesday evening.
The chain-reaction collision occurred on the Everett Turnpike South between Exits 5 and 4 on April 25, and covered about a quarter-mile, leaving debris littering the highway. Two adults and four children were injured in the crash.
Nashua Fire and Rescue responded with three engines, and a ladder truck. Three ambulances were dispatched by AMR, and NH State Police and Nashua Police assisted in controlling traffic to protect the other first responders.
Multiple people were transported in each ambulance to Nashua hospitals.
The highway remained open, but both the far left and right lanes were shut down while police cleared the scene.
The crash comes just two days after a serious crash Sunday involving a wrong-way driver that left three people hospitalized. On Tuesday State Police released the names of two of the injured parties.
Sivann Hem, 43, the driver, and Veasna Chap, 42, both of Lowell, Mass., were injured when a vehicle driven by Juan Osorio Marin, 23, of Hudson, struck them near Exit 1 of the Everett Turnpike as he headed the wrong-way. Marin suffered life-threatening injuries, and was transported to the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass.
Hem was transported to U-Mass Memorial Medical Center and Chap was transported to TUFTS in Boston. NH State Police say Marin, Hem and Chap remain hospitalized with serious injuries.
