6 juveniles arrested in connection with March 13 West Side assault

MANCHESTER, NH – Six juveniles were arrested in connection with an assault on March 13, detailed by Manchester Police below:

On March 13 at approximately 10 p.m. Manchester Police officers responded to the Elliot Hospital for a report of a juvenile with several significant but non-life threatening injuries sustained during an assault.

Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 5.17.53 PMThe initial investigation revealed this juvenile was chased by a group of nine other people to the rear of a business at 162 South Main St. Once at this location the nine individuals allegedly assaulted the juvenile victim simultaneously.

Manchester Juvenile Detectives conducted a thorough investigation leading to the arrest of six juveniles for crimes committed during this offense ranging from riot, felony second-degree assault, simple assault, criminal threatening, and reckless conduct.

The investigation is ongoing and police said no further information would be released at this time.

The current Manchester Police arrest log indicates six juvenile arrests, on March 22 and 24, five of the arrests taking place at city schools, including McLaughlin and Southside Middle Schools, and Memorial High School.

Manchester Police Sgt. Christopher Biron on Saturday would not comment further on whether the March 13 assault was gang-related, whether the arrests listed in the current arrest log at area schools were related to the March 13 assault, or if more arrests are expected.
