1. Boston Marathon is today, and according to the official site, we have 37 registered runners from Manchester, including former Alderman Joyce Craig and her husband, Mike. Check the list below, alphabetical by last name, or use this tool to search for other NH runners, and follow their progress. . Looks like a perfect weather day to run. 2. Peter and the Moose: Early risers can tune in every Monday through Friday to The Morning Show with Peter White and The Moose on 95.3 FM, WMNH, also streaming online, for a window into Manchester. The show is jam-packed with timely information, in-studio guests, trivia, music, a news updated from yours truly around 7:15 a.m., and much more. You can check out the program podcast archives here.
3. Job Seekers: WorkReadyNH offers a free program aimed at helping the unemployed or underemployed. This 4-week class will elevate your job search, improve your workplace skills and add credentials to your resume. Class starts April 19 and runs through May 12, 8:30 a.m at Manchester Community College. More here.
4. Speak your piece: Tuesday’s Board of Aldermen meeting starts at 7 p.m. with public comment, your chance to address the board for three minutes, about anything you want. Anything. After that, the board will meet to discuss city matters. If you want to wade through the 337-page agenda, here you go. If you don’t want to be there in person, you can stream the meeting live via Manchester Public TV, or tune in via Channel 22 on Comcast.
5. Shop til you drop: Love it or hate it, Wal-Mart is expanding its footprint in Manchester with the grand opening of its super store on April 20. Today’s the day that the gates will come down on Gold Street, rerouting traffic away from the neighborhood. Will you be going for opening day?
