On August 30, 2016, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Epping Police Department stopped a motor vehicle for a speed violation on Route 125. Trooper George Sanborn of Troop A, assisted the Epping Police Officer on the stop. The operator was identified by the Epping Police Officer and after running his license status, learned the operator had an active warrant for second-degree simple assault, a felony warrant, out of Manchester.

After confirming the warrant, police attempted to get the operator out of the vehicle. The operator failed to comply with the order and drove off, speeding onto Route 101 westbound. Trooper Sanborn attempted to stop the vehicle again, and a pursuit ensued.
