HAMPTON FALLS, NH — Three people were killed and one suffered life-threatening injuries after a crash on Route 88 which authorities believe happened late July 28, but was not seen or reported until a pedestrian noticed the wreckage early Sunday morning.

On July 29, 2018 at approximately 11:40 a.m., Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop-A responded at the request of the Hampton Falls Police Department to Route 88 in the vicinity of Applecrest Farms to investigate a fatal single-vehicle collision.

Initial on-scene investigation revealed that a 2009 Nissan Altima was traveling west on Route 88 when it failed to
negotiate a curve and left the roadway striking a stand of trees off its northern shoulder. As a result of this collision the driver, who is identified as, Jacob Raymond, 21, of Exeter, suffered fatal injuries, as did two of his passengers,  who identified as Sarah Frost, 18, of Exeter, and Stephen Hansen, 22, of Seabrook.

A third passenger identified as, Daniel Petruzzelli, 19, of Manchester, was transport to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for life-threatening injuries.

Excessive speed appears to be a contributing factor, however all aspects of this crash remain under
investigation.

Investigators at this time believe the crash occurred during the evening of July 28, possibly as early
as 6:30 p.m., but remained unreported as the vehicle was hidden from view of passing traffic due to
the dense vegetation surrounding it. A passerby walking along the roadway first reported this crash
at approximately 11 a.m. on July 29, 2018.

The New Hampshire State Police Troop-A were assisted at the scene by the NH State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, the Hampton Falls Police and Fire Departments, as well as Al’s Automotive & Truck Service Center.

Anyone with information pertaining to this crash is asked to contact Trooper Kevin Dobson of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop-A Barracks at (603)679-3333 or Kevin.Dobson@dos.nh.gov.
