MANCHESTER, NH — Three men were arrested April 9 following a street fight on Laurel Street, one of them additionally charged for possession of a gun, police said.

Manchester Police responded to a reported fight in front of 226 Laurel Street at  approximately 11:15 p.m. The unknown caller said a gun may have been displayed during the incident.

Officers arrived to find several men running away from the area, so Officer Kevin O’Meara and Joseph Tucker gave chase and apprehended two men a short distance away from 226 Laurel Street. They were identified as Tyvon Watson, 19, of Manchester, and Patrick Simms, 20, of Hooksett. They were charged with Resisting Arrest/Detention and released on personal recognizance. Both are scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on May 13, 2016.

A third man was located in front of 212 Laurel Street by Officer Alexander Martens. He was later identified as Josiah Brown, 18, of Auburn. Brown was seated on the porch of the aforementioned address and appeared to police to be intoxicated, and was only wearing one flip-flop while holding on to a backpack. Officer Martens observed a second matching flip-flop between 226 Laurel Street and 212 Laurel Street moments before he located Brown.

Brown’s clothing matched the description of the man allegedly waiving a handgun during the altercation. He was ultimately charged with Resisting Arrest/Detention and Carrying without a License. A handgun was located in his backpack during a search incident to arrest. He was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on May 13, 2016.
